George Washington Carver Museum and Cultural Center
The George Washington Carver Museum and Cultural Center serves to “promote appreciation and respect for people of African/African-American decent” both in Arizona and worldwide. The museum is housed in the former Phoenix Union Colored High/Carver High School, where African-Americans attended during enforced segregation. The museum now features exhibits on African-American pioneers, families, athletes and soldiers, as well as religion in the African-American community.
