Phoenix has the most expensive cab rates I have ever seen anywhere in the US. Then our train won't run late. No wonders the DUI task force is so busy.... Our public transportation system is a joke.

As a Tempe resident I think it is crap that you have to pay 1.25 during the FREE week to even catch a bus to ride the light rail on Apache ! Sure there are parts of Tempe that have the orbit but when is the Orbit coming south of the freeway? And this whole not running after 1130 what if I want to go out to after event downtown I can't get home cause but have taken the light rail. I think they should really think about running the light rail later in night cause it will help cut down on the drunk drivers and all the car traffic downtown phoenix. I feel sad for the people on the westside who dont have the light rail specially with the push towards to the Glendale sports complex ie jobing.com arena. Not good planning there. Maybe some day they will extend the light rail track into Glendale or at least one can home.

Stop the Hypocracy, Extend the HOURS NOW, and Extend the Light Rail all the way to the WEST SIDE along the I-10 via 101. The city is too greedy with DUI dollars thats the only reason why they are reluctuant to extend the hours. If you want for people to spend money on this city, EXTEND THE HOURS NOW....

I agree. Even Salt Lake City keeps their's running later on weekends. Pretty sad when Phoenix is running earlier that Salt Lake City. How about the city looking at San Diego or Seattle? Oh wait, that would be too progressive.

Its amazing how proud this city was when they passed Philly as the fifth largest , lets be sure to staff our transportation efforts with the mentality of that and the prospect of growth, salt lake as a model , wow i m sure its booming, where do these morons come from ?

This is a joke! What western city was this hourly model taken from? We boast about being the fifth largest city in the nation but we still run it like the 1930’s train stop between El Paso and Los Angeles we used to be. I believe the model for the hours this thing are running are the same as the old trolley hours from back in the 30’s to 50’s. My dad used to tell me he needed to get on the trolley before 11:30 if he wanted to not miss the last ride of the night. Have we not grown up and become a bit more of big city since then? Of course not. As a downtown resident, my friends and I have been looking forward to the opening of the light rail for some time. So have the restaurants we enjoy. They have been killed by the chaos of this construction and now not even their employees can get home on it.

Do you realize that using these figures, the cost works out to $13,258 per foot (or $1,105 per inch) ?
