Homme Lounge What are you looking at? Love the body decorations! Best friends forever

You're not quite legal, and all you wanna do is dance.

Two of the Valley's favorite DJs have got you covered with Best Friends Forever. The new dance night launches this Saturday, Feb. 7, at Club Red, brought to you by Kevin the Makeout Bandit and Craig Citizen, who also run Party Foul! every Friday night at Phoenix's Homme Lounge.

The massive party features two stages, more than 10 DJs, live bands and a photo booth, with tons of electronic music to get you and your underage friends raving all night long.

Keep an eye out for Kevin's (real last name: Wayman) new project, Daze of Thunder, too, a remix production duo whose debut performance is Saturday.

We talked to Citizen, 28, and Wayman, 25, about their new night and why it's needed in the Valley, where hipster parties are popping up now more than ever.

Why did you see a need for Best Friends Forever in the local music scene?
Craig Citizen: There's a bunch of kids who are just turning 18 who have nowhere to go to dance to (electronic music) or no real introduction into this kind of scene, so they can come out, they can hear us play, they can hear guys from LA or New York, top name DJs from all over the nation and all over the world play, and get an introduction to good stuff as opposed to (expletive) you hear on the radio or at some crappy club or a house party.
Kevin the Makeout Bandit: No one out here's really doing anything 18 and over. Hipster kids from Arizona State University don't really have anything.

How will the event stand out from other indie dance nights in the Valley?
CC:
It's going to be 18 and over and will have twice or three times the amount of DJs we're used to doing. The stage is a lot bigger, so we're going to have a lot more people dancing onstage. It's definitely a lot more (of) what you'd associate with like LA or Las Vegas, a big club atmosphere. People will have a little more room to mingle and move as opposed to a tighter bar or club atmosphere.
KMOB: Best Friends Forever at Club Red is going to be almost more of a rave atmosphere.

Best Friends Forever is the first Saturday of every month, while you put on a similar all-ages night the second Saturday of every month at Flagstaff's Mad Italian. Do you worry about over-saturating the scene or burning out?
KMOB:
It's definitely crossed our minds. We're trying to do different things at each event and separate it.
CC: With B.F.F., we're just trying to expand (Party Foul!) and make it bigger. Every year, there's a new batch of 21-year-olds who want to go out and party. We're trying to get people into what we're doing at 18. We're trying to keep people in here and keep it fresh and have new bodies.
KMOB:
As soon as it stops being fun, I'll stop doing it. I have the best job in the world. I get to drink and hang out with friends and play music.
