Hanny's restores style to downtown
Restaurants in downtown Phoenix usually have to win over fans. Often they're small, independent nightspots—artsy bars and restaurants tucked ...

What a nice restaurant.. it's unique and different for others in the Valley. The elevator shaft was something to see, and the restrooms, well... confusing to say the least..... The food was fantastic... everything that was ordered at our table was terrific.

Phoenix finally has gotten a bar/restaurant that will rival New York/Chicago/L.A. in style and sophistication. I went there 2 weeks ago and was truely impressed with the renovation. The only disappointing thing about the place is the menu. Granted, it is only bar food, but the menu lacks the same wow factor. If fact, I thought the menu was poorly thought out and possibly the work of someone who never stepped foot in a kitchen...after sampling the onion strings and one of the sandwiches, my suspicions were correct.

Great place, went there on a Friday night a couple weeks ago and loved it. Try the pork something sandwich and the Moscow Mule (or Russian Mule...one of those) drinks, it's fantastic. A a great addition to downtown Phoenix that has a real big city downtown feel to it.

I ate at Hanny's two weekends ago and it is a must go see. The food was pleasant enough, but the atmosphere is definately a must experience. Definately go see the elevator shaft, and upstairs bathrooms. The staff was super nice and were very attentive even though we came with our one year old daughter and they did not have high chairs. Go! Go! Go!

Dowtown Phoenix is on the cusp of becoming a real downtown. Keep up the synergy and zone all high rises to be built only downtown for the next 10 years minimum.

I'm so glad to see that EVERYTHING in Phoenix hasn't been destroyed. Hanny's was one of the nicest stores in town along with Goldwaters and The Boston Store which is now Dillards. Everything was downtown but moved to Mall's instead of downtown Phoenix. I really like the fact that the Orpheum Theatre was restored but there were others that were destroyed such as the Fox Theatre. Too bad....we need those reminders of the past.

My Uncle worked as a salesman at Hannys Department Store in the 50's. I have newspaper articles with him modeling the clothes. He was their top salesman. If you would like any pictures or news articles, I would be glad to make copies of them for you.
