agreed. Steve used to tell everyone who would listen that he owned the place and I knew he didn't own 1%. Not to mention trying to take credit for everything that was great about SIX while doing nothing but trying to sleep with every female employee. Isn't he broke and like 50 years old? He never struck me as being very smart anyway so, I bet he is just trying to hype himself up some more. I guess his idea for 6 squared or Twelve as a possible name is a good indication.... possibly the least creative and dumbest names you could come up with.

I dont really care, I am just glad we will have some more options. Everyone's getting ready for the bowling tournament but this is what she just told me. Steve MacDonald was never an owner, he was the manager that always went around telling people he was an owner, typical Scottsdale wanna be. Now he is going around telling people that he has a lease for the space that is never going to happen because the original lease with the "real" owners of SIX is still in effect because of something illegal on the part of the landlord who is getting sued. I guess this has been a really badly kept secret that has been going around for weeks and that is why she originally told me the story was not true. just clarifying.

All true... I believe Mickey's is the spot being taken over by LA based owners. Both SIX & Mickey's were originally operated by the same group of people, until Smith decided to make his mess w/in the two. Article also states MacDonald was an 'original owner'...that should be self-explanatory in the info your friend got... "she said the old owners still have the lease and that they are going to be re-opening in the Fall". And finally, ownership has never changed from the original group. When they got tired of Smith's b.s. they left on their own accord. Still invested, not on site. There is a lease & its right where it should be, with Mr. McDonald.

I'm not sure this story is true. My girlfriend works at the Martini Ranch and she said the old owners still have the lease and that they are going to be re-opening in the Fall with a new concept from L.A. and that the old manager who says we was an owner doesn't really have a lease at all???

I think that is is great news that Steve McDonald has taken the SIX space. i really hope he doesn't call it SIX still, reminds me too much of the old owner, I'll be nice and not comment on him. I don't care what he does to remodel the place as long as he does something to the restrooms, they are horrible! Good luck Steve, I look forward to the opening.
