Is it a beach bar, a dance club or karaoke destination? Hurricane Bay is pretty much all of these things. But you'll be drawn to one of the three depending on the year you were born. The younger crowd appreciates the roomy dance floor and easy-to-bounce-to mix of Top 40, hip-hop and R&B. The older than younger crowd breezes back and forth between Solos Karaoke Show Bar and the main bar, which is surrounded by palm trees, surfboards and barkeeps in bikinis and Hawaiian shirts. Of course, if you can't get served at the main bar, you can try the volcano bar loaded with beer. If you're free Friday from 7:30-9 p.m., head over to Hurricane to check out Fame — a weekly showdown amongst hardcore Valley karaoke singers. Drinks are $2.
