This new night at the Mondrian Scottsdale is inspired by Père Lachaise, the legendary cemetery on the outskirts of Paris where legends such as Jim Morrison and Fredric Chopin are buried. The small indoor-outdoor bar the Midnight Room is surrounded by patios, one featuring a massive fireplace onto which videos are projected, the other is set up with black and white striped cabanas, which can be reserved for bottle service, or, if they’re open, you can just hang out.
The DJs play an eclectic mix of salsa, heavy house, dance and a little bit of hip-hop—there might even be live electric violinists! Hostesses are dressed up in negligees with fishnets and bobbed wigs, and they carry black lace parasols. The lighting is all purple, and there’s a swing on one of the patios on which a hostess poses all night, like living décor.
