Barcelona remodeling is gold
Barcelona Steakhouse and Nightclub has finished remodeling one of its patios and its main dance area, making the club even more VIP-friendly and a little more modern.
It's hard to imagine this bastion of upscale nightlife becoming any more gilded without transplanting itself to Las Vegas.
It did, however, bring a little bit of Las Vegas to the club, for just one night.
To celebrate the addition of new draperies, paint, TVs, bars, a fire pit and a whole new vibe, according to spokeswoman Lynze Shuman, the nightclub invited back former fan-favorite Zowie Bowie for Thursday night. The couple specialize in high-energy covers of hip-hop, R&B and pop, as well as standards. Now, they're regulars at the Palms Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
“We recognize the importance of offering new experiences to our customers, especially in economic times like these,” Shuman said. “Whether it's the new band Generations with (former “American Idol” contestant) David Hernandez or the renovations, we always want to be doing something new.”
The renovations, done by Artistic Designs, LLC, include reworking the south patio by adding a new bar, a fire pit surrounded by bench-style seating and new views of the main stage.
Guests also will notice that the bottle-service area has been expanded in the main dance room, where VIP tables are bigger to encourage inter-group mingling. The area feels more community-driven and less exclusive, but that's a good thing.
“Generations has really taken off, so we needed more VIP seating with views of the stage. And in the coming months we're planning more guest appearances and special performers,” she said.
