Stone Rose Lounge is giving you an excuse to toast Mother Earth with a new eco-chic cocktail.

Made with VeeV acai liquor, the VeeV-a-la Green is a mix of the berry-meets-cocoa-flavored spirit, basil, cucumber, lemon juice and simple syrup, $12.

In honor of Earth Day, Stone Rose will donate 50 cents for each cocktail purchased throughout May to Global Green USA, a 16-year-old group dedicated to stemming global climate change by creating green buildings and cities in the United States. It's part of Green Cross International, which is dedicated to reconnecting humanity with the environment to ensure a more sustainable and secure future.

You can feel even more greeny goodness because for every bottle of VeeV sold, that company donates $1 to a project run by Sambazon, a major harvester of the fruit, to ensure that the acai palm continues to thrive in the Brazilian Amazon Rainforest.

But if that's not enough drinking do-goodery for you this week, at noon April 26 Barcelona Steakhouse & Nightclub hosts the Edge of Taste. Led by '90s alt rockers, singer Ed Kowalczyk from Live and Everclear frontman Art Alexakis, it will be an afternoon of acoustic rock in an intimate setting. Frontman for Caroline's Spine, Jimmy Newquist, and singer-songwriter Matthew Moon also will perform.

The concert serves as a pre-party to Taste 2009: A World of Flavor, a food and wine festival benefiting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Phoenix. With live entertainment and selections from more than 50 Valley restaurants, this event promises to pack Kierland Commons later that night.
