W Hosts AIDS Day benefit and I hope to see you there tonight
Today is World AIDS Day, and in support of fundraising efforts to fight this global disease, the W Scottsdale is hosting an awareness-raising event tonight from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
The hotel is hosting a launch party for (Red)Wire, a weekly digital music magazine, and the latest effort from (Red), the group that has partnered with Gap, Armani, Apple and others to raise money to fight aids in Africa.
The viewing party tonight in the Living Room bar will feature a video of performances by U2, John Legend, Sheryl Crow and more.
I am excited to be there because I believe in a global effort to fight AIDS, and I believe that everyone's support of this cause matters. (I'm obsessed with Bono and pretty much anything he lends his name to, so there's that, too.)
They'll also be serving the exclusive Inspi(red) cocktail, a mix of Belvedere vodka, white cranberry juice, Moet White Star champagne, garnished with pomegranate seeds. A portion of sales from the drink will benefit the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. Also, guests can also sign up to become (Red)Wire members on computer kiosks set up throughout. The party is free, and I'll be there with some of my more socially conscious friends. I hope you'll join us.
