Since opening last year, SideBar, located in downtown Phoenix, has become quite the popular locale. Everyone from hipsters to yuppies to artists to ASU Downtown campus students have been known to throw back a pint here. SideBar has bragging rights to offering over 30 wines by the glass and 50 beers, some of which are hard to find elsewhere. The happy hour appetizers are decent (the spinach and artichoke dips and pita chips come in plastic containers, which makes me think they are bought from Trader Joe’s and dumped in new plastic ware), so the best thing to do is order Pei Wei from downstairs and have it sent up. The sleek décor, dim lighting and modern furniture make this a perfect downtown spot. Definitely try it out.
