Ice House Tavern
It's fitting that "Arizona's best hockey bar" overlooks the rink at Arcadia Ice Arena. Quite literally a hole in the wall (you've got to wander down a back alley just to find the place), Ice House has built a reputation as a neighborhood dive where the staff remembers your name, even if you're a first-timer.
The proximity to the ice makes it a great place to cool off while watching a baseball or football game. A self-proclaimed hockey bar is a godsend to hockey fans—especially during the Stanley Cup playoffs, when so many bars devote their TVs to early-season baseball games.
The bar also hosts local bands.
From the Ice House:
"Ice House Tavern is the best kept secret in town—a cozy neighborhood sports bar with its own viewing station for live hockey and room for local bands with original music. The IceHouse Tavern offers MLB Extra Innings, NFL Sunday Ticket, and NHL Center Ice in HDTV on multiple big screens. Saturday nights we feature live local bands with original music, all genres. 21+ please, the Ice House Tavern is a full service bar, offering drink specials and Bud Light, Amber Bock and Molson on tap. The internet jukebox is fully loaded and always getting better. Plus, we have steel tip darts, pinball and a crazy dice game!
"Easy Directions: Enter mall parking lot from 40th Street, just south of Thomas, in front of Harkins Theater. Swing Left (south) and follow the wall down to the ice arena and the BLUE DOOR and patio area that is the Ice House Tavern's main entrance."
