Old Town Scottsdale has been called the “new Los Angeles” for its abundance of pretty people, shiny cars and hip nightlife and dining scene. It’s also home to the free Thursday art walk. Make sure you have your digital camera with you at all times—you never know when you’ll run into Britney Spears at Jackrabbit Lounge or an Arizona Diamondback at Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall.

You'll find loads of young people in Central Tempe, which is home to Arizona State University students, hipsters and trendsetters.
