The Emerald Isle is birthplace of stout, the darkest of ales. Everyone knows Guinness combines a roasty mocha flavor with a rich, creamy texture (from tiny nitrogen bubbles instead of carbon dioxide). What most don't know is that it has fewer calories and carbs than Michelob Light. Also on tap at the Skeptical Chymist: crisp Harp lager and mouth-filling Smithwick's red ale (pronounced SMIT-ick's).
