Somehow one of the classiest bars in Phoenix has managed to keep its hip factor. Walking into the Merc Bar always makes us take a deep breath and exhale, This is how a bar should be. And yet, its motto is, “Just a bar.” It is dimly lit and intimate, modernly designed with dark wood and black leather, and downright sexy. The perfect mix of down-tempo music permeates the room yet allows for conversation. Drinks are pricey but exquisite, especially the mojitos and martinis. It feels like being in an episode of "Sex and the City." No surprise that they have a sister location in Soho.
