Kazimierz World Wine Bar
November 7, 2008
Whenever people ask about Kazimierz, they say it two or three different ways, and end up with, “You know, Kaz-whatever… the wine place?” We asked them for the correct pronunciation to end the confusion once and for all, and they offered: “(Kaz-MEER-ehzz). But as you know, there’s enough difficulty and confusion with the name (not to mention finding it), so we don’t complain about anyone’s pronunciation.” Finding what is commonly referred to as “Kazbar” is half the fun—find the door that reads, “The Truth is Inside”—and it’s the perfect place to drag a newbie to if you're in the area, just to take a look, even if there’s no time for one of the 2,900+ wines on menu. Once indoors, the world is left behind stone walls and stained glass windows, and it’s easy to make-believe you’re in a castle.
