While you may not be able to purchase any bottles of Courvoisier any time soon with the sluggish economy, that doesn't mean you still can't drink like a rock star. Here are some places in the Valley to get drinks without breaking the bank. And remember, just because it's cheap doesn't mean it won't get the job done.

Whiskey River Saloon

Whiskey River Saloon

3202 E. Greenway Road - Phoenix
602-867-2802

Before Saddle Ranch Chop House and Cadillac Ranch, the Valley's cowboys and girls headed to Whiskey River for some country-line dancing and drunken debauchery. But even if you're not into the Wild West, you might be into the regular crowd of college-age hotties. Sundays through Wednesdays, enjoy $1 Pabst Blue Ribbon cans from 6 to 10 p.m.; on Wednesdays, there are 25-cent Miller Lite, Miller Genuine Draft bottles and well drinks from 6 to 10 p.m.; on Thursdays, drink 75-cent domestic beers from 6 to 10 p.m.; on Fridays, there are 75-cent domestic beers and well drinks from 6 to 10 p.m.; and Saturdays close out the week with $2 you-call-its and long necks from 6 to 10 p.m.

Bikini Lounge

Bikini Lounge

1502 N.W. Grand Ave. - Phoenix
602-252-0472

Bikini Lounge is notorious for being a laid-back gem of a dive bar, with a staff that will talk your ear off for hours and an eclectic, if somewhat dirty, clientele. You never know when a stray dog will be hanging out at the bar, and the place always seems smoky despite the ban. That said, you can get your billiards fix here or listen to some 'N Sync on the downloadable jukebox if there isn't a DJ spinning, while you load up on $3 32-ounce pitchers of Pabst Blue Ribbon.

Yucca Tap Room

Yucca Tap Room

29 W. Southern Ave. - Tempe
480-967-4777

The Yucca Tap Room is home to the artsy-er kids from Arizona State University and hip adults, with a cool mix of live bands playing every night from hip-hop to psychedelic rock. The bar is pretty tiny, and the dance floor gets crammed, but that just brings everyone closer together. It's even more fun when you can enjoy $2 domestic and well drinks Mondays through Fridays from 6 to 11 a.m. and 3 to 7 p.m., not to mention $1.75 cans of Pabst Blue Ribbon and $2.50 wells and domestic bottles all the time.

George and Dragon

George and Dragon

4240 N. Central Ave. - Phoenix
602-241-0018

In addition to serving awesomely authentic English pub grub, the George and Dragon also gives its customers some bangin' drink options to go with their bangers and mash. It's always easier to try out your British accent once you've had a few, so get started with $3 domestic bottles, which go down to $2 during happy hour from 4 to 7 p.m. every day. All drinks are $1 off during happy hour and reverse happy hour from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. Mondays-Thursdays, and you can also score two-for-one well drinks during regular and reverse happy hours. That's a bloody good deal!

Club Forbidden

Club Forbidden

6820 E. Fifth Ave. - Scottsdale
480-994-5176

Forbidden, formerly Anderson's 5th Estate, may cater to a mostly gay clientele, but anyone can enjoy the drink specials and tear it up on the dance floor to the upbeat club music. Party it up with your girls for ladies night on Wednesdays, with 75-cent well drinks, $3 Skyy Vodka drinks and $3 Bud Lights. There are also two-for-one drinks Friday nights from 5 to 10 p.m. and Saturday nights from 8 to 10 p.m., so it's easy to pick up a hottie while staying on your budget.

Iguana Mack's

Iguana Mack's

1371 N. Alma School Road - Chandler
480-899-6735

Iguana Mack's has tasty, cheap Mexican and bar food, and the place also boasts live music and comedy nights. But people of all ages come here for the delish drink specials they enjoy inside the restaurant area or outside on the cute patio. Pick up a featured microbrew for only $3 on Mondays after 4 p.m.; Tuesday means $2 beers and $3 liquor after 7 p.m.; on Thursdays ladies get it good with $1 well, wine, draft and martini specials after 7 p.m. Happy hour means $2 domestic drafts, $2.50 wells and $3 house wines every day from 2 to 7 p.m. and Sundays through Wednesdays from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. If you're a Red Stripe fan, they're only $2 all the time.

R.T. O'Sullivan's

R.T. O'Sullivan's

1010 W. Southern Ave. - Mesa
480-844-1290

This sports bar also has another location in Mesa (6646 Superstition Springs Road.) and one in Glendale (5830 W. Bell Road), and it's a good thing, because the place is packed most nights. The place hosts poker tournaments and has arcade games, all of which are more fun with $2.50 Harp bottles. Other drink specials include $2.25 domestic draft pints, $2.25 domestic bottles and $3 well drinks during happy hour, which is Mondays through Fridays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The Rose and Crown Pub

The Rose and Crown Pub

628 E. Adams St. - Phoenix
602-256-0223

This British pub is a treasure hidden in a historic building downtown in Heritage Square, but it's not all prissy. The venue hosts trivia and punk rock nights and sees a lot of young bohemians looking to quench their thirst. Happy hour is from 4 to 7 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and includes $2 wells, $2 domestic beers and $1 off all draft beers. Plus, Pabst Blue Ribbon cans are always only $2.

Uncle Monkey's Bar and Grill

1720 W. Southern Ave. - Mesa
480-890-2276

After a grueling day of shopping at Fiesta Mall, head to Uncle Monkey's, a gritty bar with pool, darts and karaoke. If you work in the service industry, enjoy $1 you-call-its on Sundays. Anyone can grab $2 Coronas on Tuesdays, and Wednesdays mean $2.50 bottle beers, $3 wells and $2 10-ounce beer mugs.
