Looking for a good bar or restaurant to stop at during your light rail trip? Here are a few of our faves.

Fez

Fez

3815 N. Central Ave. - Phoenix
602-287-8700

A cool spot that caters to cocktailing urbanites. With its trendy looks and late hours, the mood is definitely aiming for sophistication.

Macayo's

Macayo's

4001 N. Central Ave. - Phoenix
602-264-6141

This Arizona-based chain has several Valley locations serving yummy Mexican eats to the masses. The restaurant’s decor is bright and fun, right down to the servers’ colorfully patterned shirts. In the food department, Macayo’s starts off with a bang, with its thin, crispy chips and just-right salsa. Try the restaurant’s specialty, a beef, chicken or carnitas chimichanga, and pair it with a strong house margarita.

Clarendon Kitchen

Clarendon Kitchen

Clarendon Hotel - Phoenix
602-252-7363

The Clarendon Kitchen at the chic, midtown Clarendon Hotel specializes in Mexican cuisine, including grilled-chicken burritos, chorizo macaroni and cheese, and flourless Mexican chocolate cake. If you’re in the mood for something a little more white-bread, it also offers an array of steaks, burgers and sandwiches on the “Gringo Menu.” The restaurant is open from 6 a.m. to midnight and also serves cocktails and food at the pool, which has been named one of Phoenix’s best.

Arcadia Farms at the Heard

Arcadia Farms at the Heard

602-251-0204

All ingredients used in this restaurant are locally grown, pesticide and hormone free. Plus, check out the Heard Museum before or after the food.

Yoshi's Restaurant

4050 N. Central Ave. - Phoenix
602-274-6470

Japanese fast food with some reliable teriyaki chicken bowls. The location can't be beat; it's one block south of the station.

Arcadia Farms at the Heard is almost two miles from this spot. Use the McDowell stop instead, then head north about one-third mile.
