Phoenix Comicon 2009

Comic books, sci-fi, anime and more collide at Mesa Convention Center

Everyone from casual fans to hardcore cosplayers turned out for the 2009 Phoenix Pomicon. Fanboys and fangirls dressed as "Naruto" and "Watchmen" characters got the chance to mingle with "Star Trek: The Next Generation" stars Wil Wheaton (Wesley Crusher) and Marina Sirtis (Deanna Troi); "Star Wars stars Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca) and Richard LeParmentier (General Motti); and local artists like Daniel M. Davis ("Monster Commute") and Benjamin Glendenning ("Loaded Bible 3").
