The historic Hotel San Carlos, which was built in 1928, is a great place for an in-state escape because it’s relatively inexpensive and has a fun, romantic feel to its rooms, designed in Italian Renaissance style.  It’s also popular for its summer Adult Swim parties, weekly jaunts that take place at the hotel’s rooftop pool, where hip young adults don their ’50s-inspired swimwear and dance to indie music. The hotel is in the midst of downtown Phoenix nightlife activities.
