Co-sponsored by Grandparents in Residence and the Christina-Taylor Green Memorial Foundation, this Beyond event encourages participants to bring a partner and walk, ride bikes or push strollers along the trails at the CDO Christina-Taylor Green Memorial River Park. The entire route is a 3.1-mile loop, with music, chalk art and face-painting starting at the intersection of Magee and Shannon roads. Commemorative T-shirts, bracelets and Christina-Taylor Green ceramic butterflies will be available for sale. The event is held in memory of the Jan. 8, 2011, shooting near Tucson, in which 13 were wounded and six were killed, including 9-year-old Christina-Taylor Green. Beyond is a coalition dedicated to commemorating the tragedy and celebrating the spirit of the Tucson community by encouraging people to use the region's public lands.
