Anthrax
After playing several successful concerts together in Europe, heavy metal's "Big Four" finally brought their show Stateside, for a single performance on Saturday, April 23 at the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio, Calif., just one week after the same site hosted the Coachella Festival. Anthrax, Megadeth, Slayer and Metallica each played full sets to an estimated crowd of around 50,000 headbangers, making for what might have might have been the single biggest gathering of black concert T-shirts in U.S. history.
