The Purple One played a 12-minute medley set during a downpour—and it was pretty much universally acclaimed. From Artist-Formerly-Known-As originals like “Let’s Go Crazy” and the incredibly apropos “Purple Rain” to covers of Dylan’s “All Along the Watchtower” and the Foo Fighters’ “Best of You,” Prince put on a kingly performance. Visual of the night: the virtuoso guitarist soloing in silhouette projected on a giant billowing sheet.
