It’s always 1955 at Cafe ZuZu, but unlike most ’50s-themed places, it isn’t a cutesy, self-conscious retro operation. There are no wisecracking waitresses and no posters of James Dean. The nostalgic feel comes from the food. This is the kind of fare that mother knew best. We’re talking righteous chicken noodle soup, meatloaf, beef Stroganoff, and macaroni and cheese. Butterscotch bread pudding and lemon meringue pie also take you back to happy days.
