The Tempe burger stand, at University Drive just east of Mill Avenue, has been a fixture for nearly four decades. A menu of six burgers and four chicken sandwiches is offered and your selection is cooked in front of you on a wood-fired grill. Take a seat on a tree-stump chair and enjoy yours with onion rings or French fries -- both delicious. Fountain sodas, beer served in Mason jars, and wine by the glass are available. It's cash only here though, and an ATM is on-site in case you forget.
