Eel

Unagi, or freshwater eel, just sounds slimy to many first-timers, and the dark-brown sauce served on top doesn't do anything to change their minds. True, the texture can be a little soft, but otherwise the taste is about as alien as fried chicken, and just as satisfying. (That sauce is sweet - no wasabi this time.)
