Boston: The Field
What’s special about this place: If you're looking for a legitimate pub in Boston, consider the number of Irish patrons at The Field your litmus test for authenticity. It’s a great bar for cozying up and enjoying a pint of Guinness or Magner’s on draft, better still if you’re hungry for fish and chips or burgers with steak fries and a healthy dose of malt vinegar. Head here in the early evening or on weekend afternoons to shoot a game of pool, catch a football match or hustle (or be hustled by) a local Cantabrigian at a round of darts.
Why the wings are amazing: These perfectly cooked, tender wings are just crispy enough on the outside to soak up the perfect amount of Buffalo sauce. These wings are HOT, so keep the blue cheese dressing close and your pints even closer.
Best drink to get with wings: There's a nice variety of beers on tap—Guinness, Murphy’s Stout, Long Trail, Belhaven Scottish Ale, UFO Hefeweizen, Radeberger Royal Pilsner and a few others. If you order the wings, go with a nice, hoppy Harpoon IPA to cut some of that intense heat.
How hot are the wings:An arbitrary star rating is difficult to assign; accept the fact that you'll be sucking on ice cubes for the duration of your stay.
