Dallas: Plucker's
What’s special about this place: Plucker’s has been serving up tasty wings and other fried goodies to Dallas residents for years. The late hours make it a popular spot with college students and post-party eaters, and while the burgers and fries are solid, it’s the hot wings that make this place famous. Many an adventurous eater has been humbled trying to consume an order of wings slathered with the legendary “Fire in the Hole” sauce.
Why the wings are amazing: A variety of sauces makes repeat visits worthwhile. Start with mild Buffalo and work your way up the hotness scale, or opt for flavorful Mandarin, Cajun, honey BBQ and even Dr. Pepper.
Best drink to get with wings: Beer, specifically the $2 Ziegenbock on Tuesdays.
How hot are the wings: As far as hotness, “Fire in the Hole” pretty much sums it up. Don’t make plans the next day.
