New Orleans: Finger Lick’n Wings
What’s special about this place: This small wing joint in the Lower Garden District has some of the funkiest flavors in town. Walk up to the counter and you’ll see their menu featuring such flavors as Obama, Bounce, I’m Wifey, Blaq Biggie, and Make it Jump, among others. If you like spicy, stick to the house specials: they’re hot like a bounce party in July in the Ninth Ward.
Why the wings are amazing: Other than being creatively named and delicious, these flavors can be mixed and matched, potentially creating a “Obama Make it Jump” wing that will make you forget about politics all together and remind you that you’ve never had wings like this before.
Best drink to get with wings: Finger Lick’n doesn’t sell alcohol, so it’s probably best if you just grab an Abita Jockamo IPA at the corner store nearby. This heavy-on-the-hops beer will quench your thirst as the competing spices take hold of your taste buds.
