Richard Matheson's vampire novel "I Am Legend" has made its way into three film adaptations—“Last Man on Earth,” “The Omega Man” and last year’s “I Am Legend.” The book depicted vamps as calculated creatures of the night with their own separate society. Sadly, none of the movies have ever gotten it right, instead opting to turn the vampires into zombies or hairless Neanderthal giants that open their mouths unnaturally wide and roar like lions. Also, real vampires have the class not to mess with adorable German Shepherds.
