9. "The Honeymooners"
Recently lifted from the ignominious annals of IMDBs Bottom 100 list, it could still be argued that John Schultz’s adaptation of the 1950s classic “The Honeymooners” hasn’t yet finished paying its debt to society. True, it’s really no one person’s fault why this remake, cast with Cedric the Entertainer and Mike Epps as Ralph Kramden and his friend Ed, flopped as hard as it did.
Perhaps the 48 years that passed between the last episode of “The Jackie Gleason Show” and this film built up some kind of cultural indifference that couldn’t be overcome. Or maybe everyone just stayed home, made popcorn and watched “Nick at Nite.”
